along the hillside
long blossoms of the tall grass
splashing in silver

through the shattered glass
of the express train window
fragmented rays of sun

outside the temple
waiting for their evening meal
monks and stray cows

standing out
in the paddy fields
two tombstones

and my feet feel cold
now as the darkness lengthens
this haiku moment

perched on rocks
after the long hike
solitude
